Training
Royal realizes our most important resource is our people so we believe in investing in them. To help our staff perform at the high level we require, we spend 3% of payroll on training and have a full time training coordinator to make sure we meet and document our training needs.
New recruits, from engineering to production technicians, receive a three-day orientation including a sample lay-up exercise emphasizing the importance of fabric orientation. In every department, the new recruit works with a mentor until the mentor and department supervisor agree with the recruit that he or she is ready to produce an excellent product and there is documentation to confirm it.
Leadership training is provided to our supervisors and backup supervisors to assist in creating a fair, safe and supportive environment for our employees to work. We also strive to promote from within whenever possible, and are committed to developing our people to instill the confidence they need to take on key roles.
In short, we know Royal is only as good as the people we employ. We hire the best and then continually strive to make them better through challenge and training.
