Royal realizes our most important resource is our people. We believe in investing in them and spend approximately 3% of payroll on training. Our full time training coordinator makes sure we meet and document all internal, government and customer requirements.
Each new recruit receives a four-day orientation including a sample lay-up exercise that emphasizes the importance of fabric orientation. The new recruit works with a subject matter expert (SME) until the SME, recruit and department supervisor agree that he/she is ready to produce an excellent product and documentation to confirm.
Safety training is ongoing at Royal. We cover internal safety requirements along with meeting or exceeding OSHA and customer requirements. The goal of our safety training is to give our employees the information to protect themselves and others from work place hazards and inform them of proper procedures.
Royal’s supervisors and backup supervisors are trained in creating a fair, safe and supportive environment for employees to work. We strive to promote from within whenever possible, and are committed to developing our people to instill the confidence they need to advance in key roles. Our internal leadership program, LEAD Royal, is offered to all employees. LEAD strives to develop the employee for future leadership roles at Royal; this creates of a pool of promotable candidates from which to select when opportunities arise.
Our professional staff is continuously seeking training opportunities to keep up with aerospace technical advancements. Engineers have many opportunities for instructor led training, web based training and seminars. Our CAD department constantly evaluates new training to keep current. In addition, Royal’s tuition reimbursement program helps professional, technical and production employees who want to develop their potential.
