Manufacturing

Royal Engineered Composites provides advanced composites parts as an “outsource” manufacturer for commercial and defense companies.

DIGITAL MANUFACTURING

Royal Engineered Composites can import CATIA V5 R19 CAD data to exacting industry standards. We maintain strict controls on CAD data, meeting and exceeding Boeing Digital Product Definition (DPD) compliance.

TOOL DESIGN AND FABRICATION

Your involvement is essential in completing a project that meets your exact needs and specifications. At Royal, we thoroughly understand your project from start-to-finish, communicating with the client throughout the process. CAD molds are created from customer CAD drawings. Aluminum molds are built to strict specifications, allowing us to create a finished part that is reliable, functional, and durable.

Software Tools

A wide variety of software tools enable Royal Engineered Composites to sync with virtually every available program. Here is a list of the software we utilize:

  • CATIA® V4 & V5
  • SOLIDWORKS®
  • ENOVIA™
  • AutoCAD®
  • NX™
  • K-Compare™ Validate
  • PolyWorks®
  • Concerto™
  • Virtek Laser Edge
  • Gerber
  • MasterCAM
  • Lectra

HARD & SOFT TOOLING

The quality and design of the fabrication tooling for a part directly affects the quality of the part that it makes. Royal routinely creates and reviews new tooling designs for compatibility to processing requirements. Additionally, if existing tooling is available, a review of its capability can be made to evaluate its viability. Royal has in house 5 axis CNC capability for creating patterns and molds from such materials as steel, aluminum, composite and epoxy tooling board. A list of qualified machine shops and tooling vendors is also maintained for cases where additional or specialty capacity is required.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS

At Royal Engineered Composites, we communicate daily with production workers to constantly improve our manufacturing methods. The most important feedback we receive is from the people who have hands-on knowledge of the parts they produce. This open communication approach results in strict engineering control over every step of the manufacturing process.
